About this Opportunity: Responsible for developing and maintaining an effective supply chain system to achieve optimum levels of productivity, customer satisfaction, and inventory.
Responsibilities:
Ensure safe operation of the plant's material handling equipment, including Forklifts, Tuggers, Docks, Dock locks, Chocks, Doors, Plates, Switchers, Trucks, Trailers, Storage, Racking, and Warehousing, in alignment with published plant and corporate guidelines.
Develop Continuous Improvement (CI) actions to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Cultivate a proficient team adept in using the ERP system, lean manufacturing tools, customer systems, and Supply Chain Management processes to meet internal and external customer requirements effectively.
Oversee the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team to uphold acceptable levels of customer and internal metrics, implementing a structured continuous improvement plan with defined actions, responsibilities, and delivery dates.
Manage the SCM continuous improvement plan to enhance operational efficiency continuously.
Oversee the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process to maintain uninterrupted material flow, both inbound and outbound.
Ensure understanding, utilization, and achievement of the plant's logistics plan.
Manage plant inventory, implementing policies and procedures to achieve accuracy and turnover objectives.
Supervise the physical inventory process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate policy through clear written work instructions, training of the count team, timely posting of counts, root cause investigation of variances, and implementation of permanent corrective actions.
Manage CI actions to achieve over 98% inventory accuracy.
Supervise the SCM team to achieve 100% on-time delivery to customers and develop CI actions for any issues hindering this objective.
Manage the supply base and SCM team to ensure 100% On-Time Delivery (OTD) for purchased goods and develop CI actions for any obstacles.
Ensure utilization of customer requirements, metrics, and systems to acceptable levels.
Establish a proper escalation process with increased communication levels, internally and externally, to ensure timely notification of potential shipment delays to both internal leadership and external customers.
Collaborate with the plant management team to achieve targets, goals, and objectives.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
5 or more years’ experience Supervising in a manufacturing environment, prefer union experience
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles such as SMED, TPM, and Kanban.
Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and planning concepts.
